In Your Korner

The boys received another donation, which was able to purchase 24 more boxes of mac and cheese and 5 more boxes of cereal! They were so excited to take more donations to the food pantry. Drew did a fantastic job deciding how many of each item to buy! Thank you so much for supporting In Your Korner!

With over $255 of donations to In Your Korner (some of which were from the boys themselves!), we were able to purchase 60 boxes of cereal and 270 boxes of macaroni and cheese!  We asked and were informed that these items are needed most at the Perrysburg Christians United Food Pantry.  The boys had a blast choosing the cereal and loading the cart with mac and cheese:

So that makes the total number of items donated to the Perrysburg Christians United Food Pantry over 500!!  Five hunderd three to be exact!  WOW!!  This will make such a significant difference to local children in need!  Thank you so much for your generosity!!

We are working on a few small, additional fundraisers for next year, and we will certainly be in full swing again next fall for the boys’ birthdays!  In the meantime, all donations will go toward the PCU Food Pantry, so feel free to keep giving!

You donated: 30 boxes of mac & cheese, 12 boxes of pasta, 20 cans of fruit, 2 of veggies, 10 cans of tuna, 1 of chicken, 4 cans of chili, 6 cans of spaghettios, 1 box of hamburger helper, 1 of scalloped potatoes, 3 jars of pasta sauce, 28 cans of soup, 2 boxes of oatmeal, 14 boxes of cereal, 20 mini cereal boxes, 8 jars of peanut butter, 1 of jelly, 6 boxes of crackers, and 1 container and 3 jugs of juice mix!!!!

That’s incredible!!  Thank you SO very much for being so generous to our community’s youth in need!!

AND we have over $230 of donations to purchase more food!!  I asked which items are most in need, and mac & cheese and cereal are at the top of the list.  We will do the shopping and make the delivery at the end of the week!

What a success!!  But what’s been the icing on the cake is that dialogues have begun among our new community of fellow parent-friends and the kiddos about donating and community service!  I had no idea that some of Drew’s friends were generous with the Humane Society and others made visits and brought cheer to elderly individuals!  It has been awesome watching the boys talk with and learn from their friends about being caring and generous!  Secondary mission: check!

We are so excited to donate to local children in need this year!  The boys decided that they would like to collect food for their 2011 birthdays!  The local food pantry is operated by Perrysburg Christians United and is in need of cereal, peanut butter, canned meat, canned fruit, spaghetti, and macaroni & cheese.  These are perfect items for children!

Ben’s birthday party was a great success and collected three large bags of food!  We are so excited for Drew’s party!  Thank you so much for donating to local kids in need!
